The music of Green Heron stretches across the entire American folk landscape. Old-time, folk, bluegrass, country, and blues are all represented as the band brings the back porch to the stage. Featuring Betsy Green on fiddle, banjo and vocals, and Scott Heron on guitar, banjo and vocals, the duo has been sharing New England stages together since 2016. The two songwriters weave the contemporary with the traditional and meld high energy performances with emotion and finesse.
Betsy, brought up playing country and bluegrass with her family’s band in rural Massachusetts, still plays alongside her three sisters in the band, The Green Sisters. Scott, along with Betsy, are both members of the New Hampshire quartet, The Opined Few. Before that, Scott spent several years in various metal bands touring New England and much of the country. Despite their very different backgrounds in music, the pair still draw from their roots when writing and performing and have found a common love for Americana music.

Ryan Fitzsimmons' acoustic world runs the emotional gambit. The lyrics of Ryan's songs range from gentle, poetic details to the in-your-face realism of a bar fight, and his guitar ranges just as far, from starry night to thunderclap.

Kaylee fashions lyrics and music that are both relatable and livable; she hopes the listener will immerse themselves in the image she crafts, and then take what they want or need as their own. She writes music to be singable and fun, complex enough to be interpreted yet meaningful with stories and messages. Kaylee’s performances are as memorable as her writing style is colorful: they draw audiences in and make people want to listen.
